BerryDB is a fully hosted service. With the hosted service you can still retain the data content where it is as long as the db can access the content via a public URI or authenticated private URI. Contact us for if you are looking for other deployment options.
BerryDB computes a fingerprint (hash) for each object (image) when the object gets populated into the db. This is an efficient hash that can be used to compute the differences and similarities between objects.
